SGL Golf’s LED systems let greenkeepers adjust light and heat independently, matching conditions precisely to the grass’s needs. Sensors continuously monitor surface temperature, and the system adds heat automatically when required, ensuring healthy, resilient greens even when sunlight is limited or weather is unpredictable.

Optimised light spectrum

Grass relies on different colours of light to drive photosynthesis, with some wavelengths supporting growth more efficiently than others. By understanding this, greenkeepers can influence both root and shoot development, ensuring healthy, resilient greens. Each colour also requires a different amount of energy, making the choice of spectrum crucial for both performance and efficiency.

SGL Golf’s LED technology enables the creation of a precise “light recipe,” allowing greenkeepers to select specific colours and ratios to match the grass’s needs. Since 2008, our Research & Innovation Centre has refined these light recipes, resulting in the most effective and energy-efficient spectrum for consistent, high-quality turf worldwide.
